I am very honoured to say that I’ve had the privilege to be the art director and graphic designer for 19 pages in Snowboard Canada Magazine issue 32.1 pages 40 - 49 & issue 32.2 pages 16 - 21 & 56 - 61, one of Canada’s leading snowboarding magazine companies. Stay tuned for the winter edition!

The Ben Poechman Interview is the main athlete article of the magazine. Ben, or soulboarder on Instagram is a very creative individual so this article design was inspired by his art. My only restriction was to keep the article to 7 pages, begin and end with a double page spread, and three single pages.
Quarterpipe 101 is an interview with a true legend in snowboard history, Ben Bilocq.
This design was a bit more of a challenge to work with as I was limited to only two pages and had plenty of text to work with. In the end this design came out with a classic, retro theme to match Ben’s legacy!

Bull Mountain D.I.Y. - Issue 32.2 pg. 16 - 21
This article is about a do it yourself park so I went with a construction like theme. With a title graphic that was made to look like a bull ran through it mixed with a bit of that construction wooden theme where it says “DIY”. I also used wooden hanging signs to showcase names in a unique way rather than a typical small font in the corner to carry out the theme throughout the article.
The Indigenous Side Of Snowboarding - Issue 32.2 pg. 56 - 61
With a more traditional feel to this article I wanted to keep everything more simple with a rustic grit feel to it. For the title graphic which can also be seen on each page spread, I used a more tribal style font and included part of the Nisga’a Nation flag where the writer of this article is from. By adding this title graphic to each page spread it creates a connecting theme between all the spreads.
